Our hedge fund specializes in fully automated trading. We have developed a best-in-class automated trading platform, featuring direct market access to  major financial exchanges, and a complete system for developing and automating trading strategies. We will provide the technology, the capital, detailed historical data, lowest cost commissions, and highest quality executions—you will leverage these tools to build profitable trading strategies. Responsibilities 
  • Build and maintain quantitative trading models by researching and establishing investment strategies
  • Oversee daily performance and evaluate against historical data
  • Assess portfolio to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, firm policies and portfolio investment strategies
  • Collaborate with Trade Ops to ensure stable deployment of quantitative strategies

Requirements

Candidate should have all of the following:
  • 3+ years managing and developing strategies and managing portfolio risk
  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree from a top-tier school in a technical, scientific, and/or quantitative field
  • 2+ years of experience with a major object oriented programming language (C++ / Java / C# preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience working with Unix-based systems
  • Strong desire to conquer the challenge of outperforming other financial market participants
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, creative and competitive personality
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional Desired Skills

  • Statistical modeling, time series, machine learning, big data, or other data modeling experience
  • Matlab, R, Stata, numPy, Pandas: expertise with any of these is a plus

Work directly with the Director of Quantitative Researcher and assist the strategy team by applying your analytical skills and writing programs to assess and support trading strategies.

Job Description 

The Systems Engineer will report to the Chief Technology Officer of Asia and be responsible for user/desktop support, being the initial contact for general Systems issues, and be expected to grow over time to be able to deal with most Systems & Networking issues.


Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for user/desktop support. Duties include account setup, desktop provisioning, installation of software packages & modules (Python, Ruby, R, etc), phone & printing issues, general troubleshooting, etc.
  • Manage our servers across multiple data centers, including BIOS tunings & ILO configurations, OS installation & upgrade, host configurations via our configuration management system, additional setup/configurations not yet scripted, etc.
  • Report problems to telco and service providers, provide regular updates to the team, and coordinate/work with team members to resolve issues.
  • Work with data center providers and brokers on provisioning servers and connectivity.  Work with brokers and exchanges on exchange access.
  • Develop scripts to automate systems tasks (most should go into our configuration management system).
  • Deploy monitoring scripts and write custom checks as needed.
  • Perform database administration duties, including setup and configurations, access control, data import and export, monitoring, replication and backups, etc.
  • Perform storage-related tasks, including adding more capacity, freeing up disk space, monitoring, reporting, etc.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid experience with Linux systems
  • DNS, LDAP, SMB, NFS, SMTP and Apache
  • Knowledge of some scripting languages (BASH, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc)
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage (DAS, NAS, SAN, etc)
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Experience in customer support
  • Debian / Ubuntu Linux
  • Some hands-on experience with networking (Cisco)
