Kenny joined Athena in 2007. In 2009, Kenny moved to Hong Kong to start the Asia office and currently heads Athena’s Asia business, Athena Capital Research (Asia). Kenny entered the finance industry in 2001 as a software engineer with PFTC Trading, an options trading firm that was a pioneer in the electronic transformation of the options business. Over the course of his tenure, Kenny was eventually responsible for the firm’s software development group and was the architect for their hybrid human-machine algorithmic trading system that traded 2% of US options volume on a daily basis. Prior to starting his career in finance, Kenny was an engineer in the Advanced Graphics Group at Silicon Graphics. Kenny attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he researched embodied intelligent agents at the MIT Media Lab and graduated with S.B (1998) and MEng (1999) degrees in Computer Science.
