Brian Bloniarz
Senior Software Architect

Brian gained his first experience developing system architecture while working as an application architect for Philips Electronics. From 2005-2006, he served as Senior Software Architect at StreamUnlimited Engineering. These positions enabled Brian to accumulate useful experience in not only developing of system architecture, but also creating reusable software designs and mathematical graphical programming.

Brian flexes his mathematical and computer science muscles on a regular basis while working as Senior Software Architect, bringing indispensable technical abilities that allow Athena’s daily software operations to run smoothly. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brown University (2002) and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Gabriel C. Lawson
Trading Systems Manager; Strategy Developer

Gabriel is responsible for developing new strategies and managing the day-to-day activities of existing trading systems. Years of industry experience in software development combined with a quantitative background from Physics and Mathematical Anthropology have qualified Gabriel to research and implement new trading strategies, including statistical models, from start to finish.

Gabriel brought his programming and quantitative skills to Athena in July 2004 after being recruited out of his Ph.D. program at the University of California, Irvine Institute for Mathematical Behavior Sciences. Gabriel also worked as a software developer and team leader for Paciolan, Inc. Prior to that, he spent two years in the Peace Corps teaching science in Gabon.

Ivy Wu
Accountant; Investor Relations Manager

Ivy’s responsibilities include handling Athena’s accounting and investor relations, in addition to many other miscellaneous areas of the company’s operation.

Before joining Athena, Ivy began her professional career as a Staff Accountant with Ernst & Young Hua Ming Certified Public Accountants. Ivy handles the preparation of tax filings, monthly accounting reports, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and due diligence reviews for Athena.

Ivy graduated from Fudan University, one of China’s top schools, and is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin Chinese
