Athena Capital Research is a privately funded company specializing in quantitative trading and investment strategies. Brad Banks founded the firm after working at another highly successful hedge fund, where he gained significant experience with the financial markets and automated trading.

Trading began in late 2003 and was ramped up to significant levels by early 2004. Evan Wies, an experienced software engineer and seasoned team leader, joined Athena and became a partner, further solidifying the firm’s commitment to technology and teamwork.

On March 1, 2007, we launched our flagship fund, the Athena Nike Fund, setting up the next phase in our growth.

Today, Athena boasts 21 team members, each with diverse international and technological backgrounds. As we work to maintain our edge in the markets, we keep an optimistic eye to the future, always looking to expand the team and seize new market opportunities, while managing to preserve the founding values so integral to the firm’s success.
